Galtellì sits between the Monte Tuttavista ridge and the coast near Orosei, which means you can walk out of the borgo in the morning and be on a mountain path, in a museum in Nuoro, or beside a pinewood on the shore by the afternoon. This is a short written guide rather than a map: distances here are easier to understand as time.

Start at the door and follow the lanes of the historic centre: the parish church, the little museum houses that keep the old rural interiors, painted doorways and courtyards you can look into. Small restaurants and cafes sit along the way, so the walk usually turns into an aperitivo before it ends.

The protected coastal reserve near Orosei has pinewoods, marked paths and a limited number of daily entries, which keeps it calm even in summer. It is a drive from the village, and reception can help you understand access rules and timing before you set out.

Nuoro is the cultural capital of inland Sardinia, with the MAN museum of contemporary art, the ethnographic collections and the literary houses of the Barbagia. A good choice for a cooler or rainy day away from the trails.
